Trefy started slowly with Cwmcarn, the bigger park, applying pressure from the start. The visitors soon pushed their way over making it 0 - 7. Cwmcarn continued well, causing Trefy to lose shape and making life very difficult for the home side. However, Trefy kept to the game plan and started to grow into the game. Unfortunately, a loose ball allowed Cwmcan to add to the score yet again, making for a 0 – 14 lead with 31 minutes gone. Trefy’s Mark Tortoriello fought back and went over in the corner just before half time. A windy day led to a missed kick, making it 5 – 14 at half time.
Outside centre Luke Morgan, brought on in the 65th minute, made an immediate. A good offload to Henry Leech was quickly returned, allowing Luke to force his way over in the corner to bring it up to 14 – 10. After this, and following three or four breakdowns, the referee began to lose his patience with the home side, warning both Ben Watkin and Luke Morgan for handing on the ground and stating that the next player would see yellow. This warning saw Wayne Price sent to the bin. Cwmcarn managed to score again during these 10 minutes, making the final score 10 – 21 to the visitors.
Trefy remain fourth in the league.
